So it's "Throw Back Thursday" only because we are back to what we were doing on Sunday. Routering more plywood for more scarf joints. This time it is 4 more scarf routers to the 2 side panels (and panel extensions). Each of the side panels has been scarfed previously. Since we are using a 12:1 scarf joint, our two 8 ft. pieces of plywood were previously scarfed together to make a single sheet of 4'x15'-9" ply. Tonight we scarfed on another 3'10" (or so) for a total length of about 19'-6" (or so). Each of the side panels needs to measure 1/4"x4'x19', so we have some room to play.
Here is the first side panel. Kick baby kick!
The second side panel is prepped and ready for epoxy tomorrow. Let's hope I can keep the garage warm enough for the epoxy to kick. I set up my small propane heater for some extra warmth, though only to warm things up. Not to be left unattended. Probably filling the garage up with CO. Won't leave it on long. I brought the Resin and Hardener inside tonight so it doesn't thicken up anymore.
The plan remains to scarf the second side panel tomorrow night along with some sanding of the completed scarf joints.
We are also still planning the build on Saturday, though the forecast is less than idyllic. The Snow (SNOW!!!) level is expected to drop to 2500'. It will likely rain. It could be a cold one, but we will get it done. Come one, come all! I really can't believe we are almost ready to build. It's been a long 3-4 weeks getting everything ready. All of the hard work is about to pay off.
